On December 10-12, as part of the institutional accreditation process, ANQA’s expert panel conducts external review at the Yerevan State Technological College.
The chair of the expert panel is Asya Simonyan, assistant lecturer at the Chair of Physical Education Theory and Methodology at the M. Nalbandyan State University of Shirak, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences. The members of the expert panel are Yasaman Avagyan, chief specialist at the Quality Assurance Division of the Armenian State University of Economics, Naira Hunanyan, teacher at the Mkhitar Gosh Armenian-Russian International University, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Arevik Hovhannisyan, student at the Ararat Regional State College.
The process coordinator is Liana Alaverdyan, specialist at ANQA’s Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division.
Prior to the site visit, the expert panel studied the education institution's self-evaluation report, the documents attached and conducted a desk review.
As part of the external review, the expert panel conducted class observations and resource observation. The panel had meetings with the education institution's management staff, the group responsible for the preparation of self-evaluation, alumni, employers, members of the governing council, teachers, heads of chairs and students.
The expert panel had "professional talks" with the managers, teaching staff, and students of the Aps "Pharmacy", "Accounting" and "Protection of the Environment and Effective Use of Natural Resources".
Meetings with the quality assurance manager and other stakeholders are also planned.
The process coming after the site visit is the preparation of an expert panel report, which points out the strengths and weaknesses of the institution and contains the recommendations of the expert panel. Based on that report, the education institution will prepare a follow-up plan with a clear schedule.
Next on, ANQA’s Accreditation Committee will make a decision whether to grant accreditation or reject it after studying the package of documents and holding meetings with the education institution’s representatives and experts.
