On October 7-10, as part of the institutional accreditation process, ANQA’s expert panel conducts external review at the Vanadzor State University after H. Tumanyan.
The chair of the expert panel is Anushavan Makaryan, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor, acting director of the YSU’S Ijevan branch. The members of the expert panel are Magdalena Lieb, member of the Accreditation Board for the Institutional Review of the College of Arts and Social Sciences at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman, member of the Council for Quality Management of the University of Cologne, deputy head of Department L 1 at Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Mare Khachatryan, Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor, teacher at the Armenian State University of Economics, Gegham Karoyan, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, deputy head for educational activities at the Institute of Information and Telecommunication Technologies and Electronics of National Polytechnic University of Armenia, Zaruhi Hakobyan, student at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia. The coordinator of the expert panel is Meri Barseghyan, specialist at ANQA’s Policy Development Division.
Prior to the site visit, the expert panel studied the education institution's self-evaluation report, the documents attached and carried out desk review.
During the site visit, the expert panel conducted class observations and resource observations. The expert panel had meetings with the education institution’s Board of Trustees, rector, vice rectors, deans, heads of chairs, the group responsible for the preparation of self-evaluation, teachers, students and alumni. Meetings will be held with quality assurance managers and stakeholders as well.
The expert panel had "professional talks" with the managers, teaching staff, and students of the Aps "History", "Psychology" and "Actuarial and Financial Mathematics".
The process coming after the site visit is the preparation of an expert panel report, which points out the strengths and weaknesses of the institution and contains the recommendations of the expert panel. Based on that report, the education institution will prepare a follow-up plan with a clear schedule.
Next on, ANQA’s Accreditation Committee will make a decision whether to grant accreditation (for two, four or six years) or reject it after studying the package of documents and holding meetings with the education institution’s representatives and experts.
Let us note that in 2015 and 2021, ANQA’s Accreditation Committee granted the Vanadzor State University after H. Tumanyan institutional accreditation for a period of 4 years.
