Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Board of Trustees of the “National Center for Professional (higher and vocational) Education Quality Assurance” Foundation (ANQA) held this year’s final meeting in the Office of Government.
According to the agenda, Foundation director Ruben Topchyan delivered independent expert panel report prepared in the context of the Armenia quality assurance technical assistance (ARQATA)–project a “proof review” of The National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation of Armenia (ANQA) against the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).
The meeting discussed questions of organization of institutional and programmatic accreditation of universities. Ruben Topchyan reported back the outcome of the pilot accreditation project carried out in Armenia’s universities. In this context, he advised that universities must submit a program of short-term and long-term reforms on the basis of expert advice.
Taking note of the report, the Board of Trustees touched on the question of choosing an independent financial auditor for the Foundation. In conclusion, the meeting approved the Foundation’s budget and staffing for 2014.
