On January 17-21, 2022, within the framework of the SMARTI programme a one-week hybrid training course titled "English for Special Purposes and European Credit Transfer System" was held at the Catholic University of Portugal. The meeting was organized by Eduardo Cardoso, head of the programme’s fourth working package. Gerard Cullen, head of the programme and representative of Dresden University of Technology also took part in the event.
The working week was intensive. During the training, the consortium-member universities and organizations touched upon the issues of the academic progress, continuous training of the academic staff, the structure and content of the academic programme, the design of an effective curriculum and their solutions, as well as the use of external and internal quality assurance systems. The results of the courses were summed up on the last day of the training. As a result of experience exchange, the consortium-member universities and organizations pointed out exemplary practice, which they will apply in their universities with the help of additional materials, slides provided during the courses.
