An information meeting with the management staff and quality assurance representatives of the VET institutions that are to be accredited took place at ANQA.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of the management staff and quality assurance officers from five colleges. The VET institutions that are to be accredited in the near future are: Yerevan Basic Medical College, Yerevan State Armenian-Greek College, Yerevan State College of Humanities, Martuni State Medical and Ararat Regional State Colleges. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce VET institutions with the accreditation process. In his opening speech, ANQA Director R․ Topchyan noted that it is possible for VET institution to pave the way for students to enter the labour market rather than the HEI, and prepare them for jobs meeting the demands of the local labour market.One of the main goals of the VET institution is to prepare students for practical work. "Accreditation is based on the self-evaluation presented by the educational institution. We expect you to present self-evaluation that raise issues but are unwavering and unyielding", concluded his speech ANQA Director R. Topchyan. In the next part of the meeting, Anahit Terteryan, specialist at ANQA’s Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division, presented the accreditation process: stages, time-schedules, principles of the formation of self-assessment working groups, etc. In the last part of the meeting, the parties discussed the pre-set further steps.
