During September 27-30, the expert panel will visit the State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of Armenia. On the first day of the visit, the experts met with the university’s rector, vice-rectors, members of the Board of Trustees and the deans. They conducted monitoring of the educational institution’s resources.
After the visit, the experts will prepare a report that will point out the strengths and areas for improvement of the State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of Armenia and will provide recommendations on improvement according to ten accreditation criteria.
The expert panel is headed by Robert Khachatryan, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor and Head of the YSLU Chair of Education Management and Planning, and of Quality Assurance and Reform Center. The members of the expert panel are Pieter Caris, international expert, Candidate of Biological Sciences, senior adviser at the Accreditation Organization of the Netherlands and Flanders, Karen Dilbaryan, a Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Senior Lecturer of YSMU Chair of Pharmacology, Director of Pharmacy of Sisian Military Hospital; Asya Simonyan, a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, lecturer at the chair of the Theory and Methods of Physical Training, coach-teacher of artistic gymnastics at Gyumri School of Higher Sports Mastery, member of Gymnastics Federation of Armenia’s board of referees of artistic gymnastics; Shushan Sahakyan, a student of M. Nalbandyan State University of Shirak.
The coordinator of the expert group is Anahit Terteryan, a specialist of the Institutional and Program Accreditation Division.
After the external assessment, the decision on accreditation of the Institution will be made by the ANQA Accreditation Committee, based on the expert report, the HEI’s self-evaluation, and the follow-up of the Institution.
The State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of Armenia received accreditation in 2016 for four years.
