On September 18-20, the Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ) hosted the second seminar of the ENQA Leadership Development Programme 2024 in Stockholm, Sweden. Varduhi Gyulazyan, head of ANQA’s Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division, was among the participants.
As part of the seminar, representatives from ENQA member quality assurance agencies studied:
- the organizational culture and the role of leadership in quality assurance agencies,
- the developments in higher education that impact quality assurance processes.
The participants had a leadership discussion with the head of the host quality assurance agency. The process for implementing group projects was clarified. The current outcomes and upcoming activities were also discussed. Let us note that Varduhi Gyulazyan takes part in the small-group project “Use of digital tools, including AI in higher education and quality assurance”, which is led by Axel Aerden, managing director at NVAO Flanders. Upon completion of the project, the participants will present their research.
Launched in 2018, the ENQA Leadership Development Programme is designed for high-potential professional staff in member and affiliate quality assurance agencies. The Programme aims to enhance participants’ leadership skills and competences in the specific context of QA agencies, expose them to up-to-date information and reflection on key developments in the European Higher Education Area and promote international cooperation. Previously, on June 5-7, the first seminar dedicated to the small-group project “Trends and developments in higher education – the context for QA agencies” was held in Budapest, Hungary.
Ms. Gyulazyan's participation in this prestigious project was made possible through the scholarship from the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation.
