To what extent and in what manner was the VET institution’s follow-up plan implemented? Did the processes and documents undergo the PDCA cycle? How analytical were the documents? Did the VET institution considered regional peculiarities while setting the strategic directions. On June 10, ANQA held discussions on these and other issues with the expert panels for three VET institutions. The goal was the initial discussion on the situation ahead of the re-accreditation processes. During the meeting with ANQA’s director Ruben Topchyan and specialists, the expert panels shared the results of their preliminary evaluation and analysis of the attached documents. They pinpointed the areas and issues that need to be discussed with the VET institutions’ stakeholders. It was emphasised that the VET institutions undergoing re-accreditation process should demonstrate the enhancements achieved since the first cycle of accreditation, highlighting how these enhancements have influenced the educational process and the credible award of qualifications. The expert panel should also focus on formative assessment in VET institutions, specifically examining how institutions implement it and its contribution to the development of professional skills. Dr. Ruben Topchyan stressed the VET institutions’ creation of quality assurance manuals could mark another milestone in their development. It was also highlighted that the expert panels’ recommendations should be clear and targeted, identifying areas in need for enhancement and providing directions in this regard.
It should be noted that the following institutions are in the re-accreditation process:
- Stepanavan State Agricultural College Named after Professor A. Kalantar, coordinator Anahit Terteryan;
- Vayots Dzor Regional State College, coordinator Meri Barseghyan;
- Shirak Regional State College, coordinator Liana Alaverdyan.
The site visits are scheduled to launch next week.
