The ANQA’s expert panel will conduct an external review of the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia within the framework of institutional accreditation on March 14-17.
The University was first accredited in 2015, for a period of five years by National Agency for the Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Spain. The University has applied to ANQA for the next cycle of accreditation. The ANQA’s expert panel reviewed the University's self-evaluation report, carried out the desk-review. The expert panel currently conducts a site visit to the University. On the first day of the site visit, the expert panel had meetings with the University’s rector, vice-rectors, the group responsible for the preparation of self-evaluation, alumni and employers, as well as carried out resource observation.
The ANQA’s expert panel is headed by Mkrtich Ayvazyan, vice-rector for Education and Research of the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia, candidate of physic-mathematical sciences. The members of the expert panel are Ashot Gyurjinyan,head of the chair of Construction Engineering at National Polytechnic University of Armenia, Vanadzor Branch, candidate of technical sciences, Harutyun Movsisyan, director of the Republican Geological Fund of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, candidate of geological sciences, Khachik Shahbazyan, PhD student at Scientific Research Institute of Energy. Vaidotas Viliunas, candidate of chemical sciences, is included in the expert panel as an international independent expert.
The coordinator of the expert panel is Varduhi Gyulazyan, Head of ANQA’s Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division.
After the visit, the expert panel will prepare a report, pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of the University and will provide recommendations for improvement. The University, in its turn, will make a follow-up plan based on the expert report. The ANQA’s Accreditation Committee will make a decision based on the above-mentioned documents.
