An online meeting with the monitored universities’ responsible persons of the internal quality assurance has taken place. The aim of the meeting was to assess the impact of monitoring on the processes of enhancement of internal quality assurance systems and academic programmes of education institutions. In answer to ANQA Director R. Topchyan’s question regarding to what the monitoring gave to higher education institutions, the participants mentioned it is similar to accreditation, but helps to identify the weaknesses of the HEI in time, and improves the quality before the actual accreditation process. As a result of the monitoring, the HEIs have been able to improve relations with stakeholders; have tried to involve students in internal quality assurance processes, involving them in self-evaluation process; and have reviewed some procedural documents.
The monitoring carried out by the National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance; Foundation are of a partnership nature. They are called to identify the strengths and weaknesses of HEI, to draw attention to the existing problems, and point out the possible directions for enhancement.
It should be noted that on October 1, we are going to have a meeting with monitored secondary vocational education institutions’ responsible persons of the quality assurance. These meetings and stakeholders’ suggestions will help to understand the impact of monitoring and the enhancement of the used toolset.
