Why and how to cooperate with employers for the efficiency of education: these questions were on the agenda of the “VET-employer cooperation: a formula of a joint strategy” conference organized by ANQA.
Explaining the choice of the topic, ANQA director Ruben Topchyan says that ANQA promotes the issue of the credibility of granted qualifications. It is impossible to provide professionals required in the labor market and recognition of qualifications without effective cooperation with the employers.
Mr. Topchyan emphasizes that the labor market expects to get practical professionals. For the implementation of the labor market expectations, bilateral cooperation is needed.
“The educational institution and the employer should develop a joint strategy for the efficiency of the educational process. Today’s discussion is aimed to support each educational institution to find its’ formula of continuous cooperation with employers”, says Mr. Topchyan.
The obstacles on the way of cooperation were highlighted by the representatives of VETs and employers during the stakeholders’ discussion. The need to revise the criteria was stressed out as well as the importance of short-term educational program implementation. The participants also presented their best practice of cooperation with the labor market.
ANQA marks its 10th anniversary this year. Events will be held under the slogan “10 years gateway to the quality” during the whole year. ANQA’s 10th-anniversary event series started with a tea ceremony where Minister of Education and Science, ANQA director and the heads of the board of trustees of state universities discussed the issues of improving the efficiency of HEIs management.
