On October 24, ANQA conducted online monitoring at the Tavush Regional College named after Patrick Devedjian. The aim was to identify the progress of the education institution’s follow-up plan, the achievements and current issues.
As part of the online monitoring, meeting discussions were held with the education institution’s management staff, heads of chairs, teachers, students and the quality assurance manager.
The discussions focused on the following issues:
- the international cooperation and localisation of international best practices;
- the teaching methods used, tools for the development of professional competencies and skills, project work as a means of building practical skills;
- the internal evaluation of the academic programmes, the resulting changes and the methodology for evaluating the effectiveness of the implemented changes;
- the distribution of general education subjects throughout the course of study and the teaching effectiveness;
- the methodology for identifying teacher needs, steps towards the development of professional skills and the regularity of trainings;
- the practice of formative assessment, student assignments that arise from the employer environment, the use of feedback in the learning process;
- the annual planning of quality assurance activities, mechanisms for data collection and their use in the decision-making process.
At the end of the monitoring, during the meeting with the education institution’s management staff, ANQA’s specialists identified the education institution’s best practices and areas in need of enhancement.
Let us note that in 2022, ANQA’s Accreditation Committee granted the Tavush Regional College named after Patrick Devedjian institutional accreditation for a period of four years.
