The site visits by the experts to the Yerevan Haybusak University and Mkhitar Gosh Armenian-Russian international University starts today, April 21st and will go on until 26th of April.
The site visits are implemented within the frames of accreditation. The process is coordinated by ANQA.
For this reason, two separate expert panels have been set up which will conduct reviews at these universities based on the international standards. International experts from Belgium are also involved in the process.
Dr. André Govaert is a professor at KaHo Sint-Lieven University in Belgium. He was a Quality Coordinator and Head of Curriculum and Course development service in KaHo Sint-Lieven University till 2008. André Govaert published a lot of scientific articles in national and international journals about Nuclear physics, Quality management, Competence management and E-learning. André Govaert was involved in numerous European projects as academic coordinator. Important to mention are the Tempus projects in BIH as ESABIH, SHEQA and BIHTEK. He was president or expert of numerous external audit panels in BIH, Croatia, Belgium,
Dr. Jan Cornelis is a professor in Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. Cornelis is author or co-author of more than 470 international publications in journals and conference proceedings, promoter of 27 PhDs and (co)inventor in 4 patents. From October 2012 he became Vice rector International Policy at VUB. He is board member at iMinds (an independent research institute founded by the Flemish government), board member of the Qbic Fund and he is representing the Flemish Government in the Board of Directors of IMEC. (Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre). He is also board member in the VUB-ETRO spinoff company EQCOLOGIC (high speed data transmission – equalizers, transceivers, power over coax).
Within the accreditation, the HEIs have already submitted their self-assessments to ANQA using the required form, and the expert panels set up by the Center, have studied these self-assessments. The site visit preparatory stage is completed, and the evaluation criteria and standards are developed. As a result of periodic meetings with ANQA staff members, an action plan has been developed for the expert panels to follow during the site visits. After the site visits the experts will finalize their observations and the panel chairman will present the final report.
