On June 1-2, the annual meeting of BFUG TPG C on Quality Assurance was held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Varduhi Gyulazyan, head of ANQA’s Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division, participated as Armenia’s representative. During the meeting, the representatives of the BFUG TPG member countries summarized the results of their annual activities.
Armenia’s works in BFUG TPG pertain to external quality assurance, with a focus on:
- Embedment of an effective model for academic programmes’ accreditation;
- embedment of European approach for quality assurance of joint programmes;
- development and embedment of a quality assurance model for micro-credentials.
During the presentation of best practices, the representatives of BFUG TPG C on Quality Assurance discussed the issues of the HEIs’ societal responsibility and its consideration during accreditations. RA representative Varduhi Gyulazyan shared the Armenian practice, which recognizes societal responsibility as one of the important areas of institutional accreditation. This approach emphasizes the transfer of innovation and research outcomes by HEIs to the broader layers of society. Among other issues, the Dutch practice on quality assurance of micro-credentials, and the possibilities of using artificial intelligence tools in education were also discussed.
