On November 20, the annual steering committee meeting of Erasmus+ SMARTI took place in a hybrid format at the Public Administration Academy of the RA.
Gerard Cullen, SMARTI’s project coordinator from Dresden University of Technology, and Katja Ullman, coordinator of the Language Center at the same university, participated in the meeting. Ruben Topchyan, ANQA’s director and Varduhi Gyulazyan, head of the Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division, were also present.
The meeting’s agenda included:
- project’s impact on the partner HEIs and educational processes;
- EMI (English-Medium Instruction) centers’ activities;
- testing of two English language modules;
- external review of EMI centers and English language modules.
On November 21, ANQA held a meeting with representatives of the Dresden University of Technology. The discussions revolved around the planning and implementation of external review of the EMI centers and English language modules formed in the project's partner HEIs.
On November 21-24, opening ceremonies of centers took place in the project’s partner HEIs, namely Public Administration Academy of the RA, Armenian National Agrarian University, Goris State University, Vanadzor State University and Shirak State University. Let us note that thanks to the Erasmus+ SMARTI project, five Armenian HEIs will have EMI centers that have undergone external review and will offer two English-taught modules. ANQA will be the coordinator of the process.
