On June 18-20, as part of the institutional accreditation process, ANQA’s expert panel is at the Stepanavan State Agricultural College named after Professor A. Kalantar. The chair of the expert panel is Kristine Hakobyan, deputy director for educational activities of the Kotayk Regional State College. The members of the expert panel are Aida Dabaghyan, quality assurance manager at the French-Armenian Vocational Education Center, Alisa Grigoryan, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, teacher at the Chair of Animal Origin Product Processing Technology of the Armenian National Agrarian University, Aram Hakobyan, student at the Yerevan State Base Medical College. The coordinator of the expert panel is Anahit Terteryan, specialist at ANQA’s Programme and Institutional Accreditation Division.
Prior to the site visit, the expert panel studied the education institution’s self-evaluation report, the documents attached and carried out a desk review. During the site visit, the expert panel had meetings with the education institution’s director, vice directors, members of the governing council, the group responsible for the preparation of self-evaluation, heads of chairs, teachers, employers, students and alumni. The panel also conducted resource observation. "Professional talks" with the managers, teaching staff, and students of the Aps "Management", "Veterinary Medicine" and "Milk and Dairy Products Technology" took place as well. Today, the expert panel will observe the final examinations and hold meetings with quality assurance managers, and a number of stakeholders. The process coming after the site visit is the preparation of an expert panel report, which points out the strengths and weaknesses of the institution and contains the recommendations of the expert panel. Based on that report, the education institution will prepare a follow-up plan with a clear schedule. ANQA’s Accreditation Committee will make a decision whether to grant accreditation (for two, four or six years) or reject it after studying the package of documents and holding meetings with the education institution’s representatives and experts. It should be noted that in 2021, the Stepanavan State Agricultural College named after Professor A. Kalantar was granted conditional institutional accreditation for a period of two years.
