On June 19-21, as part of the institutional accreditation process, ANQA’s expert panel is at the Shirak Regional State College. The chair of the expert panel is Gagik Ktryan, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, teacher at the European University of Armenia. The members of the expert panel are Marina Potikyan, teacher at the Yerevan State College of Informatics and the Crisis Management State Academy of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, Olya Avetisyan, teacher at the Yerevan State College of Light Industry, clothing designer at "Alex Textile" company, Artak Khachatryan, student at the Ararat Regional State College. The coordinator of the expert panel is Liana Alaverdyan, specialist at ANQA’s Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division. Prior to the site visit, the expert panel studied the education institution's self-evaluation report, the documents attached and carried out a desk review. During the site visit, the expert panel had meetings with the institution’s director, vice directors, members of the governing council, the group responsible for the preparation of self-evaluation, employers and alumni. The panel also conducted resource observation. Next on, meeting discussions will be held with the education institution’s students, teachers, heads of chairs, quality assurance managers and other stakeholders. "Professional talks" with the managers, teaching staff, and students of the Aps "Computing Equipment and Automated Systems Software", "Social Work" and "Clothing Modeling and Design" will also take place. The process coming after the site visit is the preparation of an expert panel report, which points out the strengths and weaknesses of the institution and contains the recommendations of the expert panel. Based on that report, the education institution will prepare a follow-up plan with a clear schedule. ANQA’s Accreditation Committee will make a decision whether to grant accreditation (for two, four or six years) or reject it after studying the package of documents and holding meetings with the education institution’s representatives and experts. It should be noted that in 2021, the Shirak Regional State College was granted conditional institutional accreditation for a period of two years.
