National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation (ANQA) has organized an online meeting with teaching staff, academic programme managers, managers, quality assurance specialists, vice-rectors and other workers of universities. Within the framework of the meeting the representatives of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and European University in Armenia presented their experience of academic programme development and review.
ANQA Director greeted the participants and started the meeting with Elon Musk quotes: “ Stop being patient and start asking yourself, how do I accomplish my 10-year plan in 6 months?”. Due to our work and cooperation with you, we succeeded to develop a quality assurance culture in the short term in Armenia. Such meetings should be conducted frequently as this will be a platform where different specialists will get acquainted with diverse approaches and will receive feedback for further development.
The meeting lasted about two hours. About 100 representatives from RA universities participated in the meeting. The agenda of the meeting included:
- “ Academic programme quality assurance mechanisms in the universities”, speaker: Tigran Simonyan (he case of "Physical Education and Sports Training" academic program )
- "Ensuring the achievement of learning outcomes”, speaker: Narine Kirakosyan (EUA- by the example of “Management” academic program ).
During the meeting, the speakers represented procedures of involving internal and external stakeholders in the academic programme development, positive results of cooperation with internal and external stakeholders, feedback mechanism which they use for students and alumni, they discussed the need for teaching staff training to apply ICT tools, and also emphasised the need to follow the demands of the labour market and the study of international experience.
After the presentation “question and answer” session was implemented. The session was effective for both sides as the participants use the chance to get to know with another experience and the speakers notice gaps that need for further development ․
At the end of the meeting, the HEI representatives expressed willingness to participate in such meetings.
