Yerevan Northern University undergoes institutional accreditation for the second time. The four-day site visit of the expert panel to the university started on September 18th.
During the site visit, the expert panel will have meetings and discussions with the university rector, vice-rectors, administration, deans, and heads of chairs, representatives of the teaching staff, students, alumni, and employers. They will also review the resources and documents. The implementation and results of the former follow-up plan will also be analyzed.
Head of the expert panel is Gayane Marmaryan, Doctor of Biology, head of a chair at ANAU. The other members of the expert panel are Irring Wasser, Managing director of ASIIN, president of CEENQA; Misak Markosyan, PhD in Law, Head of the Department of Law and Criminality at the faculty of Law of Police Academy; Mariam Momjyan, PhD in Economics, lecturer at Russian-Armenian University and Mariam Yevdokimova, student at ASPU.
The accreditation process is being coordinated by ANQA.
After the site visit, the expert panel will sum up the results and make a report mentioning strengths and weaknesses of Northern University. The report will also contain recommendations for further improvement. Northern University, based on the experts' report, will draw a new follow-up plan.
The last stage of the procedure will be the decision-making of ANQA Accreditation Committee.
Note that Northern University undergoes institutional accreditation for the second time. In 2015 ANQA Accreditation committee granted the university conditional institutional accreditation for 2 years. The validity period of the accreditation has expired and the university has applied for re-accreditation.
