On September 26, monitoring took place at the Armenian State University of Economics.
Within the scope of monitoring, meetings were held with the University’s rector and vice-rectors, heads of chairs, professors, employees of the quality assurance department and students.
During the meeting with the institution’s management staff, the processes after the second cycle of accreditation, the progress and the existing challenges were discussed. At the core of the monitoring were the results of the implementation of the follow-up plan: the development of the educational institution's new strategy, the results of cooperation with employers, the bases for the development of academic programmes, etc.
During the meetings, it was discussed by what mechanisms the training of the academic staff is carried out, and whether the project on the rating of academic staff will contribute to the increase in the efficiency of the teacher's work.
Within the scope of the developed and approved procedures, the heads of chairs and teachers highlighted the reforms of the procedure for the conduct of bachelor’s and master's theses. According to the participants, the addition of a research component in bachelor’s theses and the introduction of a plagiarism detection system as part of the procedure reforms is significant.
It should be noted that the monitoring carried out has periodic nature and helps education institutions identify the best practices and existing challenges through dialogue and professional discussions with stakeholders.
The first accreditation of the Armenian State University of Economics was in 2015, for a period of four years. The institution was reaccredited in 2021, again for a period of four years.
