On November 7, ANQA carried out monitoring at the Northern University.
The monitoring aims to track changes resulting from the accreditation process, observe the progress and outcomes of the follow-up plan’s implementation and identify the challenges faced by the HEI.
The Northern University received reaccreditation for a period of four years in December 2022.
During the monitoring, meetings were held with the HEI's rector and vice-rector, heads of chairs, teachers, students and specialists at the quality assurance centre.
The focus was on the following:
- HEI’s strategic planning processes and risk management;
- changes in the APs, stakeholders’ involvement in their development and review;
- development and testing of new teaching and assessment methods, quality assurance of these processes;
- analytical skills, development of professional thinking and creation of the APs’ outcome-oriented assignments;
- strengthening of the link between learning and research;
- modernization of the APs’ outcomes based on the study of the labour market’s needs and benchmarking;
- role of the quality assurance system in the identification of the HEI’s problems.
At the end of the monitoring, during the meeting with the HEI’s management staff, the main outcomes of the monitoring and directions for enhancement were summarized.
