On December 11-14, within the scope of institutional accreditation process, ANQA’s expert panel is at Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University.
The chair of the expert panel is Hermine Grigoryan, dean at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Vanadzor State University named after Hovhannes Tumanyan, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor. The members of the expert panel are Amalya Grigoryan, teacher at the Grigor Narekatsi University of Stepanakert, director of quality assurance centre, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, Asya Simonyan, teacher at the Shirak State University, candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Assistant, Mieczyslaw Socha (Poland), professor at University of Warsaw and State Northern State University, College of Europe in Natolin, PhD in Economics, Honorary Professor at the University of Warsaw, Shushan Daveyan, a third-year student at the YSU’s Department of Public Administration. The coordinator of the expert panel is Varduhi Gyulazyan, head of the Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division.
Prior to the site visit, the expert panel had studied the education institution's self-evaluation report, the documents attached, as well as carried out class observations and desk review.
On the first day of the site visit, the expert had meetings with the education institution’s rector, deans, members of the Board of Trustees, representatives of employers and alumni. During the following days of the site visit, the expert panel will continue meetings with other stakeholders.
Within the scope of the process, “professional talks” with the managers, teaching staff, and students of the Aps "Pedagogy and Methodology (elementary education)", "Psychology" and "Fine Art" are also planned.
The next process coming after the site visit is the preparation of the expert panel report, which points out the strengths and weaknesses of the institution and contains the recommendations of the expert panel. ANQA’s Accreditation Committee will make a decision whether to grant accreditation (for two, four, or six years) or reject it after studying the package of documents and holding meetings with the education institution’s representatives and experts.
Let us note that in 2020, Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University received institutional accreditation for a period of four years.
