On December 13, an online information session on the Erasmus+ “Capacity building in VET” action took place in the frames of “Erasmus+ Information Days 2023”.
In his speech, ANQA Director Ruben Topchyan attached importance to the VET institutions’ involvement in Erasmus+ projects, presented how to promote the development of VET institutions’ capacities to contribute to economic growth and explored the role of internationalization in opportunities for creating cooperation and peer learning.
The discussion focused on the following issues:
- the importance of local workforce development;
- the opportunities for cooperation with European institutions and their role in exchange of practice and localization of best practices;
- the enhancement of foreign language proficiency;
- the accreditation as an important tool for the recognition of qualifications;
- the approaches to the alignment of academic programmes.
The speech highlighted directions for the development of relevant programmes can be designed by VET institutions. These include:
- the development of the quality assurance system in VET institutions, the creation of opportunities for internationalization and cooperation aimed at the exchange of practice;
- the development of strategic management tools;
- the alignment of academic programmes with the NQF and recognition of qualifications;
- the involvement of employers for VET institutions’ capacity building.
Garegin Hambardzumyan, head of the International Relations Department of the Armenian National Agrarian University, made a speech on "Establishing and Maintaining Cooperation with International Partners", and the Gohar Grigoryan, director of the Armenian-French College, discussed "IMProve and PROmote VET in Armenia" (IMPROVET-AM) the CBVET project.
Lana Karlova, coordinator at National Erasmus+ Office in Armenia, presented the necessary steps to apply for the Erasmus+ capacity building programmes, the opportunities to establish contacts with partners and the expected outcomes as a result of the involvement in the programmes.
During the discussion, the participants had the opportunity to pose questions to the speakers and share their experience.
