On December 3, ANQA held a meeting with the participation of the ANQA’s director, head of the Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division, as well as expert panels and coordinators from six VET institutions in the accreditation process.
In the near future, site visits for institutional accreditation are scheduled to take place at:
- Aviatraining Centre;
- Gyumri State Sports College of Olympic Reserve;
- College of Mkhitar Sebastatsi Educational Complex;
- Yerevan State Technological College;
- Gyumri State Technical College;
- Kotayk Regional State College.
The discussions focused on the key issues identified through the desk review and the peculiarities of expert work in the external review process of sectoral VET institutions.
It was emphasised that the expert panel reports should be as clear as possible and indicate the steps VET institutions can take to achieve the systemic enhancement. It is important to identify the cause-and-effect relationships of the issues to address the entire scope of the problem.
A reference was also made to:
- the importance of strategic planning and approaches to risk management;
- the VET institutions’ skill in the design and enhancement of the academic programmes and steps to develop this skill, including through accreditation;
- the research conducted in VET institutions and their understanding of research activities.
