European education quality assurance specialists are in Armenia on June 19-22 within the TEMPUS ESPAQ project. The aim of the visit is to learn the Armenian experience of education quality assurance and student engagement in QA processes.
Today the director of National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance Ruben Topchyan welcomed the guests from the University of Macerata (UNIMC), International University of La Rioja (UNIR) and Spiru Haret University (SHU) at ANQA. He presented the Armenian higher education and quality assurance systems to the guests. Then Varduhi Gyulazyan, senior specialist of ANQA Institutional and Program Accreditation Division, presented the types of accreditation, criteria, and standards of institutional and program accreditation, the phases of the accreditation and their peculiarities.
During the day the European specialists will meet ANQA experts and discuss the external evaluation process of the universities. The activities of students within ESPAQ project will also be presented.
During the next days of the study visit, the European specialists will visit the ESPAQ partner universities in Armenia, where they will learn about the QA system of these universities, students’ engagement in QA processes and the activities of student organizations.
The ESPAQ (Enhancing Students Participation in Quality Assurance in Armenian HE) project tackles one of the core challenges of Armenian higher education related to the quality of its provision and outcomes, through engaging the students into processes of quality assurance (QA) and enhancement of their learning experience.
