The director of the National Centre for Professional Education Quality Assurance, Foundation (ANQA) Ruben Topchyan had a meeting withthe expert group of Peer Learning for Social Dimension . The experts are in Armenia to explore the higher education system of our country, focusing on the social dimension.
Mr. Topchyan presented the peculiarities of Armenian higher education system, the accreditation process of HEIs, the most frequently encountered issues in the universities and the steps of linking the labour market and the university.
The European experts were also interested in the social dimension of the accreditation process. In this regard Mr Topchyan noted that one of the ten criteria of the accreditation process is the “Social Responsibility”.
They also talked about ANQA’s social responsibility. In this context they discussed the Education Quality Week, which will be held on 20-24th of October, 2014. The Qweek will bring together Armenian and international stakeholders under one roof for the second time.
The parties also discussed the structure of ANQA, its legislation and jurisdictions.
Peer Learning Initiative for the Social Dimension (PL4SD) is a three-year project (2012-2015) funded by the European Commission through the Lifelong Learning Programme (Erasmus Multilateral projects). The objective of the PL4SD project is to provide policy-makers and practitioners with resources to develop effective measures for ensuring the social dimension of the European Higher Education Area
