On November 19-21, the ETF Forum for Quality Assurance in VET took place in Belgrade, Serbia, bringing together ETF peers to discuss and exchange their best practices of the quality assurance in career guidance and counselling services.
Ruben Topchyan, ANQA’s director, and Anush Stepanyan, Career Counselor at the French-Armenian Vocational Education Center, represented Armenia in the peer review of Serbia’s VET system.
The following issues were addressed during the visit:
- the organisation of career guidance services: how to support students in choosing vocational education and navigating the labour market;
- the mechanisms for quality assurance: how to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of VET institutions’ counseling services;
- the development of systems that respond to the labour market’s needs: how to establish effective cooperation between education and employers.
The participants also visited the country’s leading VET institutions, learning about the national model of career counseling.
Let us recall that Armenia hosted the previous ETF Forum for Quality Assurance in VET. In May of this year, ETF experts conducted a peer review of the Armenian VET system, focusing on the formative assessment and its effective implementation.
Peer visits offer member countries a chance to exchange best practices, discuss challenges, and jointly develop solutions to enhance vocational education quality and ensure alumni competitiveness.
