Mounir Baati, ETF specialist in VET Policies and Systems, and Cristiana Burzio, ETF Human Capital Development Expert, visited Armenia. On October 28-29, experts met with representatives from ANQA and the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.
The working meetings focused on EQAVET (European Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training) framework indicators, their interpretations and implementation tools. The discussions addressed the possibilities of adapting these indicators to the Armenian context and integrating them into the processes of quality evaluation and enhancement of VET programmes.
The meetings are a continuation of the ETF Forum for Quality Assurance in VET titled "Quality Assurance of Employment-oriented Formative Assessment" held in Armenia in May 2024. As part of the forum, international experts from ETF partner countries conducted a peer review of the Armenian VET system and presented enhancement-led recommendations. One of the recommendations was the adaptation of EQAVET indicators and this workshop was organised to facilitate their implementation.
Established in 2009 and reaffirmed in 2020, the EQAVET framework aims to support EU member countries in promoting and ensuring the continuous enhancement of their VET systems based on the European standards. It supports greater transparency in VET policy, strengthens mutual trust between member countries and facilitates the mobility of teachers and students. The EQAVET framework is implemented in national quality assurance systems, encompassing all VET learning environments.
It should be noted that ANQA has already started the implementation of the international experts’ recommendations directed towards the enhancement of the RA VET system as part of the ETF Forum for Quality Assurance in VET titled "Quality Assurance of Employment-oriented Formative Assessment".
