On March 29, 2022, the National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance (ANQA) held a discussion on the approaches, criteria, and procedure on the accreditation of VET institutions.
Discussion of the Statute on the VET institutions took place at ANQA. The participants were: Armenuhi Poghosyan, head of the Vocational Education and Learning Policy Development and Strategy Department of the RA MօESCS, Karen Manukyan, head of the Vocational Education and Learning Department of the RA MօESCS, Tatevik Gasparyan, director of NCVETD, Argam Dovlatyan, director of Vayots Dzor Regional State College, Vahe Babayan, director of Medical Institute after Mehrabyan, Robert Abrahamyan, director of Yerevan State College of Informatics, Ella Gasparyan, director of Ararat State College, and Gagik Mehrabyan, director of Abovyan State College of Power Engineering.
ANQA Director Ruben Topchyan greeted the participants and noted that ANQA has always attached great importance to the involvement of stakeholders in the development of regulatory documents. Then the ANQA lawyer Ofelya Petrosyan presented the preliminary version of the Statute and the envisioned amendments.
A discussion was held on the approaches and criteria for the accreditation of VET institutions. ANQA presented proposals on making amendments to the RA Law on Primary (Craftsmanship) and Secondary Vocational Education, as well as the vision of the new Statute on accreditation of VET institutions.
During the second part of the meeting, the participants summarised the results of the discussion in a question-and-answer format.
