On June 6-9, within the scope of the re-accreditation process, ANQA’s expert panel is at Brusov State University.
The chair of the expert panel is Anushavan Makaryan, acting director of YSU’s Ijevan branch, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, and Associate Professor. The members of the expert panel are Tatevik Sargsyan, head of the Chair of Tourism and Service, European University of Armenia, Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor, Tigran Simyan, professor at the Chair of Foreign Literature, Faculty of European Languages and Communication, Yerevan State University, Candidate of Philological Sciences. Rula Diab, assistant provost for Accreditation and Academic Operations of the Lebanese American University, Associate Professor of English/applied linguistics in the Department of Communication of the same university, is included in the accreditation process as an international expert. The student expert is Elen Ghahramanyan, a student at the Management Department of Eurasia International University.
The coordinator of the expert panel is Anahit Terteryan, a specialist at ANQA’s Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division.
On the first day of the site visit, meeting discussions were held with the HEI’s rector, vice-rectors, the group responsible for the preparation of self-evaluation, the Board of Trustees, alumni and employers.
During the following days, the experts will continue discussions with the HEI’s other stakeholders. Within the scope of the process, “professional talks” with the managers, teaching staff, and students of the Aps "Translation Studies (English-Armenian)", "Political Science" and "Service" are also planned.
The next process coming after the site visit is the preparation of an expert panel report, which points out the strengths and weaknesses of the HEI and contains the recommendations of the expert panel. ANQA’s Accreditation Committee will make a decision after studying the package of documents and holding meetings with the HEI’s representatives and experts. Let us note that Brusov State University was granted institutional accreditation in 2019, for a period of four years.
