On September 16, ANQA conducted a monitoring visit to the University of Traditional Medicine, attaching importance to the continuous enhancement of education institutions’ academic programmes after institutional accreditation.
Meetings were planned with the education institution’s rector, vice-rectors, managers of education quality assurance, the AP "Medical Work", teachers and students.
During the monitoring, the processes aimed at the formation of learning outcomes, the institution’s steps towards the reforms of the evaluation system and the preparation of hands-on specialists were discussed.
Ruben Topchyan, ANQA’s director, attached importance to the assignments given to students for the formation of medical thinking, the study of the alumni’s professional trajectory and the implementation of changes in academic programmes accordingly.
During the meeting discussions, the institution’s representatives mentioned the positive impact of accreditation on enhancements in various domains, particularly in making the learning outcomes more measurable, and building the chain of assignment-outcome-evaluation-enhancement. Let us recall that the University of Traditional Medicine was granted conditional accreditation in 2021, for a period of two years.
It should be noted that ANQA’s monitorings have periodic nature and help education institutions to highlight the best practices and existing challenges through dialogue and “professional talks” with stakeholders.
