On February 5, during an online workshop for the expert panels involved in the external review, as part of the Erasmus+ SMARTI project, ANQA’s specialists presented the EMI centres’ external review process, stages and expected outcomes.
The expert panels are consisted of international and local representatives. The external review aims to:
- support the continuous enhancement of the centres;
- contribute to the sustainable development of centres;
- ensure that student education is geared towards preparing alumni for employment in the international labour market.
The process will be based on the EMI centres’ SWOT analysis and self-evaluation. In the near future, the expert panels will study the self-evaluations. Following the desk review process, the expert panels will conduct online site visits, holding meetings with the rectors of HEIs, heads of EMI centres, teachers and students. The results of the site visit will be summarised in the expert panel reports, highlighting the centres’ strengths and weaknesses, as well as recommendations on the areas in need for enhancement.
Let us note that as part of the project, the partner HEIs established EMI centres that developed 10 English-taught modules.
