The first session of the newly created board of trustees of the National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation took place. At the beginning of the session Varoujan Avedikian, head of the Central Bank’s law department, was elected as the board’s president, and Sedrak Simonyan, Deputy Chief of RA Government’s social department, was elected as secretary.
Ruben Topchyan, ANQA director, thanked the ex-members of the board for contribution in ANQA’s establishment and in creating the quality culture in the country. He expressed hope that the new staff will have its investment in the development of the newly created system and in the solving of the problems that face professional education in RA.
Mr. Topchyan presented ANQA’s activities for 2014. In particular, the report touched upon the activities towards the formation and development of an internal quality assurance system in higher education institutions, the implemented institutional and programme accreditation in universities, the steps taken for the introduction of quality assurance system in vocational educational institutions. Mr Topchyan presented also ANQA’s international activities and steps aimed to foundation’s internal quality assurance.
