On September 24-27, the Erasmus+ KPI4HE project’s training took place in Oldenburg, Germany, with ANQA represented by Director Ruben Topchyan, head of Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division Varduhi Gyulazyan and lawyer Ofelya Petrosyan.
The presentations addressed the following topics:
- the European Union’s experience in the development of the Institutional Research (IR) system to enhance the management and quality of higher education.
- the development of internationalization strategies for HEIs and the application of the KPI toolset, following the example of the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg.
- the green technologies and sustainability indicators of the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg.
During group workshops, the participants discussed the following issues:
- the application of the KPI toolset for internationalisation at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, the internationalisation practice at the Riga Technical University;
- the technical HEIs’ practice in effective implementation of the KPIs for teaching foreign languages, particularly English, to promote the internationalisation of the HEIs;
- the public funding models for the education system on the example of Italy;
- the ensurance of the strategic planning quality, following the example of Italian universities.
As part of the meeting, two documents were presented for discussion:
- The Draft National Guide for Institutional Research and Strategic Planning (GIRSPA);
- The Development of a National KPI System for Higher Education to Support Armenia's Transition to Inclusive, Digital and Green Oriented Education.
The European partners discussed the documents and shared their recommendations and feedback, which will facilitate sustainable development and innovative approaches the in education sector.
The meeting allowed participants from different countries to exchange their experiences and discuss global trends in higher education management and strategic planning, aimed at the development and enhancement of educational systems.
Establishment of National framework of Key Performance Indicators for good governance and quality towards inclusive, digital and green-oriented higher education in Armenia" (KPI4HE) is a three-year project. KPI4HE aims at improving higher education system governance, university strategic planning and management contributing to quality and inclusive, digital and green oriented higher education in Armenia through development and implementation of National framework of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for higher education (NF-KPI), operationalization of Institutional Research and Planning Services (IRPS) and revision of state institutional accreditation criteria and standards in line with NF-KPI.
