National Centre for Quality Assurance envisions a series of meetings with the experts having serious experience in the field of tertiary level reforms in our country. The aim is to discuss the current issues, possible cooperation and future developments.
On April 30 2009, Yuri Sargsyan, the professor of the State Engineering University of Armenia was invited to ANQA. During the meeting SEUA experience of reforms, current issues and the possible solutions were discussed. SEUA is one of the first HEIs in Armenia that launched the implementation of reforms in line with the Bologna Process. Introducing the experience of SEUA, Y. Sargsyan noted that for the development of the reforms in the country it is necessary to develop regulatory documents, including those on quality assurance. The guest mentioned that today one of the many issues in the Armenian educational system is connected with the legal aspect as well as lack of the common policy on quality assurance. Another important issue, according to Y. Sargsyan, was HEIs’ low level of awareness on new approaches resulting in the lack of comprehension of the necessity of reforms by public.
Y. Sargsyan also introduced the experience of Portugal that could be useful for the future activity of ANQA.
