The monitoring held at the National Agrarian University of Armenia aimed to find out to what extent the university has improved the quality assurance process in the HEI after accreditation, to monitor the changes according to the follow-up plan, what have been done to provide resources, create and improve laboratory environments.
The below-listed questions were discussed.
- Process and results of development academic programmes,
- Links between resources, teaching methods and assessment,
- Cooperation opportunities and forms with employees,
- Ways of training and encouraging the teaching staff,
- compliance with the introduced new master's programmes with the requirements of the labour market,
- Improving university resources, laboratory conditions and research centres.
The focus of the monitoring was "Agronomy, selection-genetics", "Veterinary" academic programmes. During the meeting, the mechanisms of academic programmes review, the training of the teaching staff, and the level of student's satisfaction from the academic programmes were discussed.
During the visit to the National Agrarian University of Armenia, ANQA Monitoring group met with the University Rector, Vice-Rectors, responsibles for educational programmes, the teaching staff of the two programmes, students, as well as representatives of the University Quality Assessment and Assurance Center.
During the visit, the ANQA monitoring group reviewed the university resources, got acquainted with the modernized laboratory conditions, and observed the students' work in the laboratories. At the end of the monitoring, during the final meeting with the management of the Institution, the results of the meetings were summarized, and further directions for improvement were discussed.
It should be noted that the focus of ANQA monitoring is academic programmes, which is conditioned by the upcoming programme accreditations. As a result of the joint work ofthe experts and the representatives of the universities, an attempt is made to hold professional discussions in the direction of improving the academic programmes, to identify the areas to be improved in the educational programs, to prepare for the accreditations expected of the universities.
