On June 10-12, as part of the institutional accreditation process, ANQA’s expert panel is at the Abovyan State College of Power Engineering. The chair of the expert panel is Armenuhi Sargsyan, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor. The members of the expert panel are Oleg Gevorgyan, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, deputy director for science, scientific-technological cooperation and external relations at the Institute of Information and Telecommunication Technologies and Electronics of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia, Gayane Hambardzumyan, deputy director for educational activities of Echmiadzin State College named after Vardges Hamazaspyan, Lilit Nazaryan, student at the Ararat Regional State College. The coordinator of the expert panel is Lilit Ghazaryan, specialist at ANQA’s Secretariat. Prior to the site visit, the expert panel studied the education institution's self-evaluation report, the documents attached and carried out a desk review. On the first day of the site visit, the expert panel had meetings with the institution’s director, vice directors, members of the governing council, alumni, employers and the group responsible for the preparation of self-evaluation. On the next days of the site visit, meetings will be held with the institution’s teachers, students and other stakeholders. Resource observation will be carried out. For the third day of the site visit, "professional talks" with the managers, teaching staff, and students of the Aps "Electricity Supply", "Heat Supply and Thermotechnical Equipment" and "Accounting" are also planned.
The process coming after the site visit is the preparation of an expert panel report, which points out the strengths and weaknesses of the institution and contains the recommendations of the expert panel. Based on that report, the education institution will prepare a follow-up plan with a clear schedule. ANQA’s Accreditation Committee will make a decision whether to grant accreditation (for two, four or six years) or reject it after studying the package of documents and holding meetings with the education institution’s representatives and experts. It should be noted that in 2022, the Abovyan State College of Power Engineering was granted conditional institutional accreditation for a period of two years.
