The process of the pilot peer review of regional state colleges has started. On May 19 the expert panel of two experts and specialists of ANQA Institutional and program accreditation division Lilit Pipoyan and Varduhi Gulazyan made a site visit to the Gegharkunik Regional State College.
Before the site visits to colleges, the specialists of the regional colleges had been trained in ANQA as experts. Then the colleges had made a self-evaluation report against two criteria- Academic programs and Teaching staff. The expert panels of college specialists have reviewed the self-evaluations. Now it's time for site visits.
During the site visit, the experts have meetings and discussions with the administration and teaching staff of the college, with responsible for academic programs and students. They also review the documents.
After the site visit the expert panel will compose an expert report in which the strengths and weaknesses of the college will be emphasized, and also recommendations for improvement will be given.
The purpose of the pilot peer review of the regional colleges is to prepare vocational educational institutions for institutional accreditation and also to have a base of experts with the experience of college external review.
