National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance and 8 Armenian higher education institutions signed a memorandum of cooperation. The aim of the memorandum is to enhance, develop and strengthen the relationship between universities and labour market.
By signing the memorandum the parties agreed to cooperate in developing, piloting and implementing research projects aimed at the development of sectoral qualifications framework. The parties also agreed on information exchange.
The cooperation memorandum was signed during the final conference of TEMPUS project Armenian Coordination Agency “University-Employer’’ (ARARAT). Eight partner universities of the project, ASUE, ArmSPU, NPUA, Vanadzor branch of NPUA, Gavar State University, Goris State University, Gyumri State Pedagogical Institute after M. Nalbandyan, Russian-Armenian Slavonic University joined the memorandum.
ANQA director Ruben Topchyan expressed confidence that soon other universities will also join the memorandum.
Mr. Topchyan said, that in the rapidly developing technological era, it is very important to provide advanced education. Only this way the alumni will have competitive knowledge. And this is possible only through university labour market cooperation.
ARARAT (ARMENIAN COORDINATION AGENCY “UNIVERSITY – EMPLOYER”) is a three-year national project. The wider objective of the project is to ameliorate the relevance of higher education to ever-changing labour market needs through establishment and operationalization of universities-employers cooperation nexus in Armenia.
