The National Centre for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation (ANQA) has developed an on-line questionnaire for creating an information database on educational institutions and launching cooperation with the institutions. To collect comments and suggestions, the questionnaire was sent to several HEIs representatives responsible for cooperation with ANQA, and these institutions are anticipated to fill in the questionnaire by the 1st of July.
The database, containing official and accurate information on the educational institutions, will enable the stakeholders to have complete understanding of the HEIs’ current situation and problems. It will also promote further administration of accreditation procedures in a clear, transparent and systematic way. The questionnaire consists of 2 parts. In the first part the HEIs have to fill in general data about the institution establishment, such as the head of the institution, legal bases of its activity, accreditation, as well as data on the implementation of the core and supplementary academic programs. The second part of the questionnaire seeks data about the institutional infrastructure on the educational institution management and academic council, institution administrative structure, departments and chairs. It is important to underpin that each HEI has its own questionnaire page, which can be filled in and redeveloped only by the representative of the institution using the appropriate password. Two universities, Yerevan State University and State Engineering University of Armenia, which are rather active in reforming the system of higher education, have not only responded to the cooperation call, but have already started completing the questionnaire. These two parts of the questionnaire are the primary steps in the creation of a comprehensive database. The other parts of the questionnaire are being developed at the Centre currently, and they will include data revealing all the activities of the institution.
