Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport and Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography received institutional accreditation for 4 years. Such a decision was made by the ANQA Accreditation Committee on October 19.
For each institute, a separate discussion took place with the attendance of Accreditation Committee members, representatives of the institute and head of the peer group which had implemented the accreditation process in the HEI.
The head of the expert group presented the results of the institutional review, the university’s strengths and weaknesses, recommendations and the experts’ assessment of the institute’s follow-up plan. Then institute representatives presented their view on discussed topics and answered the questions of the accreditation committee. After the discussion, the Accreditation Committee held a closed debate and a vote.
According to the Accreditation statute, HEIs accredited for 4 years, must make an internal institutional evaluation every two years and present the results to ANQA.
Earlier ANQA Accreditation Committee has made a decision on the institutional accreditation of 17 universities. One university had been granted institutional accreditation for 6 years, 11 universities for 4 years, 3 universities had received conditional accreditation for 2 years and the accreditation of 2 universities had been rejected.
