"National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance” (ANQA) foundation will hold a week for quality assurance of education from December 1-5.
American University of Armenia (AUA) will hold “Fostering Quality Culture in Armenian Tertiary Education System: Ensuring Recognition of Qualifications” stakeholder forum from December 4-5.
The aim is to present and discuss the practice of institutional accreditation processes in transition period, general results, the Accreditation committee's decision-making approach, the internationalization and research implementation problems revealed during the accreditation process, as well as the transition to program accreditation process.
Local and international experts, Accreditation committee members, Quality Assurance staff, faculty and students, participating in the accreditation process, will address the above-mentioned questions.
The RA Prime Minister, the head of ANQA Governing board Hovik Abrahamyan, the Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, ANQA Director Ruben Topchyan, AUA director Armen Ter-Kyureghyan, ANQA Accreditation Committee member Ashot Saghyan will welcome participants.
The first day of Forum will be devoted to the problems and solutions revealed during the institutional accreditation process. ANQA director Ruben Topchyan will conduct a report on "Quality assurance as a stimulation for change management".
The impact of quality assurance processes on the educational system, outcomes and expectations will be discussed. The institutional accreditation processes implementation, AUA experience in institutional accreditation, as well as the successful experience of scientific research, internationalization, the effective management of TLI’s and education programs will be presented.
Afterward the Conference will continue in the form of workshops, where international and local leading experts will present the mechanisms for effective implementation of self-evaluation and the main methodological problems of expertise issues in the process of Institutional accreditation.
The second day of Conference will cover the main issues and approaches of program accreditation. ANQA’s program accreditation experience, the specific features of program accreditation, the institutional quality assurance with help of educational program analysis, as well as the financial policy of program accreditation are also envisioned to be represented.
Furthermore the foreign experts will introduce the international experience of effective implementation of self-evaluation in the program accreditation process.
Prior to the Forum, on December 1st within the framework of Quality Assurance Week the Tempus “ARARAT” project will be presented, during which will be discussed the TLI-employer relationship consolidation challenges and solutions. On December 2nd, discussions will be held connected with the achievements and challenges of ALIGN, ARMENQA, TNE_QA programs.
During the meetings the local and international colleagues will refer to the new framework of Qualifications and to its relevance to the educational program outcomes. Other colleagues from French University will present the problems of recognition of transnational education in RA. On December 3rd will be summed up the results of “The RA professional education quality assurance system development and improvement “three-phase training.
